250W — Road-Legal in the UK In the United Kingdom, electric bicycles are road-legal only if they meet the EAPC (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle) regulations, which include: Motor power up to 250W Maximum assisted speed 25 km/h (15.5 mph) Pedals that must be used for the motor to assist Any Mastro Ebike built with a 250W motor and configured within these limits is fully compliant with UK road law and can be used on public roads, bike lanes and shared paths without registration, insurance or a licence.
Above 250W — Off-Road Use Only
Some clients request higher-performance builds with motors above 250W or speeds above the regulated limit.
These ebikes are not road-legal under UK law. They are classified as off-road vehicles and must be used only on private land or designated off-road trails with the landowner’s permission.
Client Declaration & Documentation
To ensure full transparency and legal protection, any customer who orders a bike above 250W will be asked to sign a document confirming that:
- They understand the bike is not road-legal.
- The bike is sold for off-road or private-land use only.
- They accept full responsibility for complying with local regulations when using the bike.

Depending on complexity, the build process typically takes 4–6 weeks from order confirmation to delivery. Limited-edition or carbon-fiber builds may require additional time.
